The Saturday Game Timeline
Session 1 (10/13) – We are told that townsfolk have gone missing while visiting the graves of family members where there is also a statue of the Forgotten King. We find bodies and prepare them for shipment back to their families. We begin to investigate the tomb of the Forgotten King underneath the statue.
Session 2 (11/3) – We find a draft note by someone called Xeron. Later, we rescue a female named Leera who states she was part of an expedition led by Xeron. She says a golem chased her into a pit. She begins to tag along with our group.
Session 3 (11/24) – We meet an underwater demigod named Sigur who heals us and is very helpful. We kill a human guy who is sitting on a throne – he is NOT the Forgotten King. We do not know who the Forgotten King is. We find Xeron who suggests we will get in trouble with the Vanguard if we interfere with his plot. We totally interfere by killing him. We find a hidden passage leading down that has drow influenced decoration.
Session 4 (1/5) – We finally question Leera who reports the expedition was sent to find magical weapons, artifacts and the bones of the King to be used in a ritual of necromancy by the Vanguard of Sertrous, employers of Xeron. Sertrous is a powerful demon lord worshiped by the Yuan-ti. We descend into a tunnel noting parallel scrape marks on the ground. Could these be marks of a sled or wagon used to transport those items? On our way down, we discover two bodies, a halfling male shot through with arrows, and a female goblin stone statue with a surprised expression. The male has a scroll written in Yuan-ti addressed to a Fadheela from the recently deceased Xeron.
At the bottom of this passage, we find a teleportation device that sends us to a chamber. Scrape marks appear here as well and lead down a road that eventually takes us to Pearl, a city of the Underdark. By this point, Leera has left us. While staying at the Spicy Unicorn Pub, the Luchador identifies a figurine that turns into an eight-foot-long serpent when thrown on the ground.
Session 5 (1/26) – In Pearl, we meet Essarch, a powerful information broker. He sends us on a task to gather mushrooms which are an antidote to a plague which periodically sweeps through Pearl. We complete this and return to Essarch with the mushrooms. He offers the following information: The Vanguard of Sertrous are Yuan-ti forbidden from Pearl. Dark elves pulled a sled out of the East Gate on the road leading to the earthquake destroyed city of Pedestal. He offers us another job to assassinate his rival Elissara, but we decline and head out to Pedestal. The sled marks lead directly to a tall building. Inside, two drow attack us with the war cry, “House Malreal claims Necromancer Spire!” We kill one and one escapes.
Session 6 (2/16) – In the Necromancer Spire, behind a trapped room, we find four rooms containing objects, artifacts and treasures associated with necromancy. In one we find a cloak containing a piece of parchment with the following in Abyssal: “Avail Bewilder Conquer Dismay Entreat Forget.”
Session 7 (3/9) – Climbing upstairs in the Necromancer Spire, we find a strange room that is set up as an operating theater. A table is at the front with shackles. There are pews upon which are seated drow elven statues that have a surprised look on their faces (like the goblin female statue back in Session 4). We have been fighting reanimated creatures in the charnel pits; perhaps, this is where they were created? In a graveyard room, we defeat a weakened, possible reanimated mindflayer. In a mausoleum in this room, we find two burial vaults for a man and a woman. One contains only a package of loot. The other contains the body of a beautiful drow elven woman dressed in finery. Could this be Fadheela?
